Download Klondo

A free beta for Windows 10, 11 and Linux. The installer is about 90 MB, no administrator rights are needed, and your data lives in your own profile folder, not with us.

Beta soon

Windows may say “unknown publisher”: the build is not code-signed yet.

The Windows installer, the AppImage and the deb package will appear here with the beta.

Windows: install in three steps

  1. Download Klondo-Setup-<version>.exe with the button above.
  2. Run it. If Windows says “Windows protected your PC”, click “More info”, then “Run anyway” (the reason is explained below).
  3. Keep “just for me”: that needs no administrator rights. Click Install. On the first start you pick your profession and sign in with Telegram.

Why SmartScreen warns you

The beta build is not signed with a code-signing certificate yet. The certificate costs money and needs a registered publisher, and we are arranging it. Until the file is signed, Windows calls the publisher unknown and is cautious about new files that few people have downloaded.

It does not mean the file is damaged, but we do not ask you to take our word for it. Check the checksum: it takes half a minute and proves you hold exactly the file we built.

How to check the SHA-256

A file named SHA256SUMS.txt sits next to the installers on the release page. Compute the sum of what you downloaded and compare it by eye with the list.

Windows (PowerShell):
Get-FileHash .\Klondo-Setup-0.1.0.exe -Algorithm SHA256

Linux:
sha256sum Klondo-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage

Linux: AppImage or deb

The AppImage needs no installation and updates itself. Make it executable and run it. The deb package for Debian and Ubuntu is installed by the system and updated by hand: once a day the app checks for a new version and shows the link.

Klondo keeps AI keys and sessions in the system keyring, so it needs libsecret with gnome-keyring or KWallet. Without one the app tells you there is nowhere to keep keys and does not write them to a plain file.

chmod +x Klondo-*.AppImage
./Klondo-*.AppImage

sudo apt install ./Klondo-*.deb

Updates and your data

The Windows build and the AppImage update themselves and tell you in the app. The order database, rules and encrypted keys live in your user profile folder. Uninstalling does not touch it: to erase everything, delete the folder yourself.

There is no macOS build yet. We will announce it in the Telegram channel.
